What to ask before you hire

Take this into the call. No vendor gets to edit this list.

  1. Do you handle the sign permit with my municipality, or is that on me? Requirements vary city to city and are separate from your health license.
  2. Have you done work in this municipality before, and do you know its size, height, and illumination limits?
  3. Does the quote include engineering drawings if the building department asks for them?
  4. Is installation included, and does it require a crane or lift that adds cost?
  5. What is the warranty on the sign and on the LEDs specifically?
  6. Do you offer service for outages, and what is the response time? A dark sign on a Friday night is lost covers.
  7. For a leased space: does my landlord or the shopping center have its own sign criteria I have to meet?
